Andrea L. Fannin

Ms. Fannin joined Stone Pigman in 2001 and is special counsel to the firm. She has a litigation and trial practice with a concentration in insurance and insurance class action lawsuits. Ms. Fannin has experience in handling coverage issues, bad faith claims and class action claims. She is admitted to practice in all Louisiana federal and state courts.
Representative Matters
Defended insurance company against class action lawsuits that alleged improper handling of claims arising out of a large hail storm in a three-parish area.
Defending major insurance company against an array of claims alleging bad faith handling of property damage claims and failure to procure adequate insurance coverage.
Defending insurance agents against claims for breach of fiduciary duty for allegedly failing to procure adequate coverage.
Defended major insurance company in several class action lawsuits regarding the interpretation of Louisiana's Valued Policy Law.
Defending major insurance company in pending class action filed by the Louisiana Attorney General against the insurance industry asserting subrogation claims under the Louisiana Road Home program for the alleged improper payment of insurance funds.
Represented a local land owner in a claim for fraud in the procurement of several leases with an option to purchase. Education
Ms. Fannin graduated cum laude from Tulane University School of Law in 1999, where she was a member, 1997, and Notes and Comments Editor, 1998-1999, of the Tulane Maritime Law Journal. She received a B.S. from Louisiana State University, where she graduated summa cum laude in 1996. Professional and Civic Activities
