Ms. Robinson joined Stone Pigman in 2003 and is an associate of the firm. She focuses her practice on employment law and commercial litigation. Ms. Robinson has defended clients against claims of race discrimination, as well as claims brought under the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, and the Civil Rights Acts of 1964 and 1991. She also has experience defending employers against claims made under the Louisiana Wage Payment Statutes. She is admitted to the Louisiana bar.
Representative Matters
Defended race, sex and age discrimination claims in federal and state courts for public agencies as well as hotels, manufacturers, railroads and professional services companies.
Represented a public housing agency in class action proceedings and has successfully defended against class certification.
Represented a major manufacturer of telecommunications equipment in a breach of contract/fraud action where plaintiff alleged the destruction of its business and $2 billion in damages plus punitive damages. Case filed in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
Represented public agencies in numerous employee termination appeals to the Louisiana Civil Service Commission and represented management in union arbitration proceedings.
Represented major independent oil and gas company in multimillion dollar oil and gas royalty and tort case tried in Vermilion Parish, State of Louisiana.
Education
Ms. Robinson graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2003, where she was a member of Moot Court and Phi Delta Phi. She received her undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from Tulane University in 2000, where she was Phi Beta Kappa. Professional and Civic Activities
Ms. Robinson is a member of the Young Lawyers Section of the New Orleans Bar Association. She is a member of the Federal Bar Association, New Orleans, Chapter; the Louisiana State Bar Association; and DRI (formerly known as the Defense Research Institute).
