Ms. Wimberly joined Stone Pigman in 1987 and is a member of the firm. Her practice is concentrated in products liability, class action litigation and bankruptcy litigation. She has extensive trial experience and maintains an active litigation practice. She is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Louisiana.
Representative Matters
Representing Merck & Co., Inc. as a member of the Defense Steering Committee in multi-district litigation in the Vioxx Litigation.
Representing R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in defending a state class action formed against the tobacco industry and in multiple individual suits.
Represented R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in defending nationwide class action against the tobacco industry. The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals decertified the class.
Represented Chapter 11 Trustee for World Wide Gaming and Louisiana Route Operators involving video poker truck stops in connection with reorganization of location sites and sale of assets.
Education
Ms. Wimberly graduated cum laude from the Loyola University School of Law in 1987, where she served as Articles Editor for the Loyola Law Review, 1986-87. She received her undergraduate degree in 1974 from Louisiana State University. Professional and Civic Activities
Ms. Wimberly is a member of DRI, the Louisiana State and Jefferson Bar Associations. She served on the Board of Directors of the New Orleans Pro Bono Project, 1994-95. She also served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Jefferson Parish Home Mortgage Authority, 2004-06. She served on the Board of Directors of the Loyola Law School Alumni Association for several years.
