Mr. Courson joined Stone Pigman in 2003 and is a member of the firm. He has a litigation and trial practice with an emphasis in insurance coverage, creditors' rights and bankruptcy, and commercial litigation. He is admitted to practice law in all Louisiana state and federal courts.
Representative Matters
Defending a major insurance company in class action lawsuit alleging improper claims handling.
Defending buyer of commercial property in suit seeking cancellation of act of sale.
Represented technology manufacturer in public bid controversy.
Education
He graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2003, where he was an editorial board member of the Virginia Journal of Social Policy and the Law. He received his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from Harvard University in 1998. Professional and Civic Activities
Mr. Courson is Co-Chair of the LGBT Litigator Committee of the American Bar Association Section of Litigation and a member of the Section of Litigation Diversity Committee. He is a member of the Louisiana State and New Orleans Bar Associations and a member of the New Orleans Bar Association Inn of Court. He is a volunteer for the New Orleans Pro Bono Project and is a former corps member of Teach For America. He is the past Co-Chair of the Board of Directors of AIDSLaw of Louisiana, Inc.
