Drawing on its beginnings in the 1970s as a substantial practice in both oil and gas property transactions and finance, Stone Pigman has developed an interdisciplinary approach to natural resources and environmental services. We are experienced in all major areas of environmental law, including Superfund, hazardous and solid waste, air and water quality, toxic substances and wetlands and other real estate development and lending requirements.

Our representation includes counseling of corporate and individual clients on federal and state legislation and regulation; environmental permitting and compliance proceedings; and negotiations with the Environmental Protection Agency and other federal and state entities regarding site investigations, sitings and cleanups. The firm has participated at the state level in the drafting of and lobbying for proposed legislation, as well as other environmental rulemaking matters.

Stone Pigman has represented major landowners in drafting oil and gas leases and counseling in all forms of royalty matters. The firm has also represented independent oil and gas operators in federal and state leasing, financing, unitization matters, and operating rights.
