Estate Planning and Administration of Trusts and Estates; Tax
Our business tax practice encompasses federal, state and local taxation, and focuses on tax planning and dispute resolution. Lawyers in this section are board-certified tax specialists and/or have Masters of Law degrees in taxation. Several section members specialize in individual tax planning, and regularly work with outside professionals to provide trust and estate planning.
The federal tax practice covers corporate, partnership, limited liability company, nonprofit organization, Employee Retirement Income Security Act and executive compensation matters as well as international taxation. We represent taxpayers in administrative proceedings before the Internal Revenue Service and in litigation before the United States Tax Court and other federal courts.
In addition, the firm conducts an active state and local tax practice, covering corporate income and franchise tax, sales and use tax, ad valorem tax and mineral severance tax; and represents taxpayers in administrative proceedings before the Louisiana Department of Revenue, the Louisiana Board of Tax Appeals and the Louisiana Tax Commission, and in litigation before Louisiana state courts.
Stone Pigman has an extensive probate, trust and estate practice, which involves a full range of estate planning, representation of trust beneficiaries and fiduciaries, and the establishment, qualification and representation of public and private charitable organizations.
We also offer services in our litigation tax practice. |
