Recognizing our clients’ increasing need for representation in this specialized field, Stone Pigman has established an Intellectual Property and Technology practice group with years of experience in a range of matters. These lawyers work in the various fields of intellectual property law, including trademarks, copyrights, patents, trade secrets, and false advertising. Our expertise includes:
- Advising clients, including a number of technology companies, in creating and protecting trademarks and service marks and in concluding trademark and service mark acquisitions, transfers and licensing agreements;
- Prosecuting trademark and service mark applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the Secretary of State of Louisiana and other states;
- Assisting clients in obtaining copyright registrations for a variety of works;
- Negotiating and drafting copyright assignments and license agreements, particularly with respect to computer software; and
- Protecting trade secrets such as formulas, recipes, reports, studies and know-how.
