Representative Matters

Represented the sellers in the acquisition of a group of medical clinics by a large regional hospital.

Represented a major chemical company in negotiating a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement with the Louisiana Department of Economic Development involving various employment and investment incentives and grants.

Represented a local grocery store in a financing transaction involving New Markets Tax Credits and federal and state Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credits.

Assisted a large manufacturing company in obtaining discretionary Louisiana tax incentives for a multi-site industrial project.

Represented a local real estate developer in connection with the sale of the Lowes New Orleans Hotel.

Represented the seller in a 1031 like-kind exchange transaction involving the restructuring of ownership in a New Orleans hotel.

Mr. Walter is a guest lecturer for the Music Industry Studies program at Loyola University, and has taught the program's capstone senior seminar courses.  He regularly volunteers at local incubators providing advice to entrepreneurs and small businesses through speaking engagements and office hours.  He also volunteers with the Low Income Taxpayer Clinic and the ELLA (Entertainment Law Legal Assistance) project, assisting clients with various tax issues including tax liens and wage garnishments, negotiating payment plans with tax authorities, and representing clients in the United States Tax Court.  Mr. Walter is a member of the American and Louisiana State Bar Associations.
