Handles estate administration including the orderly transmission of assets to heirs and legatees, post-mortem estate planning, oversight of the preparation of federal estate tax returns and related controversy work such as will contests, trust disputes and fiduciary litigation.
Counsels closely-held business owners and high net worth individuals and family groups in their estate, tax and business succession planning.
Handles state and local tax controversy work in the state and federal courts and at the administrative level before the Board of Tax Appeals.

Ms. Plunkett is a Fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and serves on the Business Planning and Practice Committees. She is the immediate past President of the New Orleans Estate Planning Council. She was an officer for the Tax Section of the Louisiana State Bar Association from 2004 to 2013, when she concluded her service as Chair.
Ms. Plunkett serves on the Cornerstone Council and Honor Roll of Advisors for the Greater New Orleans Foundation and is a member of the Catholic Foundation, Professional Advisors Council. She has been awarded the designation of ACCREDITED ESTATE PLANNER® by the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils. Ms. Plunkett is a graduate of the 2014 New Orleans Regional Leadership Institute and the 2006 CBNO/MAC Metropolitan Leadership Forum. She is also a member of the Tulane Estate Planning Institute Advisory Board and the Estate Planning and Administration Advisory Commission to the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization.

In 2017 and 2020 Best Lawyers in America recognized Ms. Plunkett as "Lawyer of the Year" in New Orleans for Closely Held Companies and Family Business Law. She has also been recognized as a Top Lawyer by New Orleans magazine. In 2013, she was named as a New Orleans CityBusiness Leader in Law.
