Stone Pigman Walther Wittmann L.L.C. Announces New Members

Stone Pigman Walther Wittmann L.L.C. is pleased to announce that Kathryn M. Knight and James E.A. Slaton have become partners of the firm, effective January 1, 2010.

Ms. Knight, who is a resident member of our New Orleans office, joined Stone Pigman in 2003 and concentrates her practice in commercial litigation, complex litigation, class actions and gaming law. Prior to and while attending law school, she worked as a paralegal for 15 years and gained extensive experience in the defense of toxic tort class actions. She obtained her law degree, summa cum laude, from Loyola University New Orleans School of Law in 2003. She was Comment Editor of the Loyola Law Review, and a member of Moot Court, the Honor Board, and Phi Delta Phi. Ms. Knight received her undergraduate degree in merchandising, summa cum laude, from Louisiana State University in 1981 and obtained a second degree in Paralegal Studies, with highest honors, from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1989. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Younger Lawyers Division of the Federal Bar Association's New Orleans Chapter. She is a member of the International Association of Gaming Attorneys; the St. Thomas More Inn of Court; the American, Louisiana State, and New Orleans Bar Associations; Lawyers Helping Homeless; and the Northshore Community Foundation. She was admitted to the bar of Louisiana in 2003.

Mr. Slaton, who is a resident member of our New Orleans office, joined Stone Pigman in 2004 and concentrates his practice in commercial real estate, corporate and securities, finance. He is on the Professional Advisors Council of the Northshore Community Foundation and a member of the American, Louisiana State, New Orleans and Baton Rouge Bar Associations. He is a 2001 graduate of the Louisiana State University School of Law, where he was selected to the Order of the Coif and was a member of the Louisiana Law Review. He received his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University in 1994. Mr. Slaton was admitted to the bar of Louisiana in 2002.
