New Orleans - May 27, 2005 - Chambers U.S.A.: America's Leading Business Lawyers recognized Stone Pigman as the top Litigation and Real Estate law firm in New Orleans for the third consecutive year.
In addition to the first-place rankings, the publication awarded second-place position to the firm's Corporate/Mergers and Acquisitions and Energy and Natural Resources practice areas. For their distinguished work in the legal field, seven lawyers also earned the title "America's Leading Business Lawyers." They are:
Phillip Wittmann, chair of the firm's Management Committee, was depicted as "a man of absolute integrity," and received the designation in the Litigation area.
Susan Talley and Michael Schneider secured the titles in the Real Estate practice area. Chambers noted that Talley "never leaves anything until the last minute," and that Schneider has "extensive experience in sophisticated commercial real estate transactions."
The "cool, calm and collected" Joe Caverly and the "pragmatic" Scott Whittaker captured the award in the Corporate/Mergers and Acquisitions category.
Recognized for his "no-nonsense approach," Mike Fontham earned the title in the Energy and Natural Resources practice area.
The Chambers USA listing of "America's Leading Business Lawyers" was compiled by 30 researchers that conducted personal interviews with more than 4,500 lawyers and their clients throughout the United States. The rankings and editorial commentary about individual law firms and the recognized lawyers are independent and objective. Inclusion in the 2005 listing is based on the findings of the Chambers USA research team.
