Stone Pigman Walther Wittmann L.L.C. Announces New Members
Stone Pigman Walther Wittmann L.L.C. is pleased to announce that J. Dalton Courson, Lesli Harris and Nick Wehlen have become members of the firm, effective January 1, 2012.
Mr. Courson, who is resident in our New Orleans office, joined Stone Pigman in 2003 and is a member of the Litigation Section. He has a litigation and trial practice with an emphasis in insurance coverage, creditors' rights and bankruptcy, and commercial litigation. He is admitted to practice law in all Louisiana federal and state courts. Mr. Courson received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2003. He earned an A.B., magna cum laude, in Psychology from Harvard University in 1998. Mr. Courson is a member of the Louisiana and New Orleans Bar Associations and is a member of the New Orleans Bar Association Inn of Court. He currently serves as co-chair for the LGBT Litigator Committee of the American Bar Association Section of Litigation. Mr. Courson also volunteers for the New Orleans Pro Bono Project and served as past co-chair of the board of directors for AIDSLaw of Louisiana, Inc.
Ms. Harris joined Stone Pigman in 2002 and is a member of the Litigation Section. She concentrates her practice in intellectual property law representing a national sports league, sports teams and various clients in copyright and trademark matters. Other areas of emphasis include employment law, class action defense and commercial litigation. She is admitted to practice law in all Louisiana and New York federal and state courts. Ms. Harris received her LL.M. in intellectual property law from New York University in 2008. After obtaining her LL.M., she spent a year working as a litigation law clerk in the Media Law Department of NBC Universal in New York. She obtained her law degree, cum laude, from the Tulane University School of Law in 2002, where she was a Senior Justice of the Tulane Moot Court Board, 2001-02. She received her B.A. in Art History from the University of Virginia in 1997. Ms. Harris is Chair of the New Orleans Bar Association's Entertainment Law Committee and Co-Chair of the American Bar Association's Intellectual Property Litigation Committee's Membership. She is a board member of AIDSLaw of Louisiana, a founding member of the Louisiana Association of Black Women Attorneys and a member of the Tulane Inn of Court. Ms. Harris speaks frequently on intellectual property topics.
Mr. Wehlen joined Stone Pigman in 2004 and is a member of the Litigation Section. He concentrates his practice in bankruptcy, procurement and public bid disputes, commercial litigation, toxic torts and securities litigation. He is admitted to practice law in all Louisiana federal and state courts and before the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Wehlen received his J.D. from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University in 2004, where he graduated Order of the Coif and was an Associate of the Louisiana Law Review. He received his B.A. in Psychology from Louisiana State University in 2001. Mr. Wehlen is a member of the American Bar and Louisiana State Bar Associations. He has been recognized as a "Rising Star" by Louisiana Super Lawyers magazine.
