Brett Mason Joins Stone Pigman

Stone Pigman Walther Wittmann L.L.C. welcomes W. Brett Mason to the firm's Baton Rouge office.  Mr. Mason joins the firm's Litigation Practice Group as Special Counsel and will enhance the firm's capabilities in serving clients in the transportation, oil and gas, environmental, maritime and energy industries.

Mr. Mason has significant experience with transportation-related property damage and personal injury litigation and class actions involving chemical exposure and catastrophic accidents.  He has also negotiated and documented numerous marine-related transactions, including vessel construction, repair contracts, preferred ship mortgages, charter agreements, trans-loading agreements, shipping contracts, batture leases and fleet lease agreements.  He is a former President and current Board Member of the Port of New Orleans Propeller Club, and served on the Executive Committee of the Propeller Club of the United States.  He is also active within the Maritime Law Association of the United States, the Transportation Lawyers Association and the Ports Association of Louisiana.

Mr. Mason joins Stone Pigman from Breazeale, Sachse & Wilson, L.L.P.  He received his LL.M. in Admiralty Law and his J.D. from Tulane School of Law and his B.A. from Washington and Lee University.

Mr. Mason will be speaking at the American Conference Institute's 3rd Annual Forum on Admiralty & Maritime Claims and Litigation in Houston, Texas on the topic of Recent Developments in the Law of Seamen on February 27, 2014.
