James Dunne, Peter Thomson and Daniel Walter Become Members of Stone Pigman
Stone Pigman Walther Wittmann L.L.C. is pleased to announce that James T. Dunne, Peter M. Thomson and Daniel J. Walter have become Members of the firm, effective January 1, 2018. James and Daniel are in the firm's Business Section, and Peter is in the firm's Litigation Section.

James Dunne focuses his practice on real estate, finance and general business law. He assists businesses and individuals with industrial and commercial transactions, title examination and business financing and has handled a variety of complex transactions. James is a member of the American Bar Association and Chair of the Easements, Restrictions and Covenants Committee, Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law. He is also the current Vice Chair of the Louisiana Peace Corps Association. James received his J.D. and B.C.L., cum laude, from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University in 2008 and his B.A. from the University of Georgia in 2001.
Peter Thomson concentrates his practice in white collar criminal defense, government investigations, privacy and information security and corporate compliance. In his federal criminal defense practice, Peter has been remarkably successful in bringing tough cases to favorable resolutions for his clients. Peter has extensive civil and appellate litigation experience as well and represents clients in commercial litigation matters and civil disputes on a selective basis. He also has experience representing clients on sensitive matters before regional and national media outlets. Prior to joining Stone Pigman, Peter served for 23 years as a federal prosecutor with the United States Attorney’s Office in New Orleans, where he successfully tried over 25 criminal jury trials to verdict in federal court. During his government career, he worked on special assignment at the National Security Agency, Fort Meade, Maryland. He currently serves on the national Executive Committee for the Criminal Law Practice Group of The Federalist Society for Law & Public Policy Studies and is an Executive Committee Member of the New Orleans Lawyer's Chapter. Peter received his J.D. from Tulane University Law School in 1983 and his B.A. From Tulane University in 1978.
Daniel Walter is a Tax Law Specialist, certified by the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization, and assists clients with partnership and corporate tax, federal and state tax credits and incentives, real estate and corporate transactions, executive compensation and general corporate matters. He also advises regional entrepreneurs and emerging companies on their legal options at every stage of their business's life cycle. Daniel is a member of the Association of Corporate Growth, Louisiana and the American and Louisiana Bar Associations. He received his LL.M. in Taxation from the New York University School of Law in 2014, his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2009 and his B.A. from Emory University in 2000.
