New Orleans’ Historic Dorignac’s Food Center Back in the Hands of Dorignac Family

Stone Pigman is pleased to announce that their work in the litigation involving Dorignac’s has been amicably resolved and that the Dorignac family will once again spearhead the historic local business. Stone Pigman is proud to have taken part in helping Dorignac’s Food Center, a staple of the New Orleans metropolitan area for more than 70 years, and the Dorignac family, restore their legacies and position them for success for generations to come.

“In New Orleans, family legacies play an important role in our culture and business community,” says Dorothy Wimberly, member of Stone Pigman. “Stone Pigman’s work on this case adds to the rich history our firm has in assisting well-respected New Orleans businesses. We are thrilled that our clients, the grandchildren of founder Joseph P. Dorignac, Jr., now have full control of their family’s legacy and we look forward to Dorignac’s Food Center continuing to serve the Greater New Orleans community.”

The Dorignac family thanks Ronald Dawson, Jr., Kevin Neyrey and Shawn Bridgewater for their successful stewardship since their father, Joseph P. Dorignac, III, put them in charge of the management of Dorignac’s upon his death in 2006. They have positioned the iconic grocery store to maintain its competitiveness and have preserved the Dorignac legacy.

Two of the grandsons of founder Joseph P. Dorignac, Jr., Jody and Jason, expressed their appreciation:

“I was extremely pleased with how Stone Pigman dealt with the meticulous details that were needed to bring our family business back into the hands of my brothers and I,” said Jason Dorignac. “We are all very excited about the future of our grandfather’s legacy.”

“I was really happy with the way Stone Pigman treated us, they treated us like family,” said Jody Dorignac. “We couldn’t have asked for a better team.”
