Stone Pigman represents corporate and individual fiduciaries. We counsel clients on their rights and obligations as a fiduciary, such as an executor or trustee, and advise them on "best practices" to avoid litigation, as well as representing fiduciaries in litigation. We also represent heirs and trust beneficiaries, advising them on their rights, monitoring probate proceedings and/or trust administration on their behalf, and advising them on how to most effectively correct issues.
Stone Pigman advises executors, trustees and other fiduciaries in the proper execution of their duties and also handles fiduciary litigation, including will contests, trust disputes, breach of fiduciary duty claims and interdiction (guardianship) proceedings.
Lawyers in this practice group include Fellows in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, including a member of the Fiduciary Litigation Committee, and a Board Certified Estate Planning and Administration Specialist as certified by the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization. Stone Pigman has pursued and defended will contests based upon lack of capacity and undue influence and forced heirship claims, and has defended trustees against breach of fiduciary duty claims.
